Who are we?

Stages School of Dance was formed by Vivienne Greener in 1984 with a vision to train and teach students to the highest possible standard in a friendly and approachable environment, and this has become the founding ethos of the school today. At Stages, we promote confidence, strength, discipline and grace through dance.

Since then, the only thing that has changed is that the school has grown and evolved to encompass all forms of performing arts, so that we can continue to keep up with the increasing demand of the entertainment industry. We will challenge the student with aspirations to become a professional performer, and we will provide a supportive and happy atmosphere for the student who just enjoys performing as a hobby.

Stages School of Dance nurtures our students and encourages them to take the next step, whether it is performing or teaching, by offering many exciting opportunities to perform, take teaching qualifications, and even assist in classes.

Stages School of Dance has stayed true to the founding vision. It is now recognised as one of the North East’s finest Dance Schools with an enviable reputation. Vivienne says: “We spot potential performers and give them an environment to develop technique and hone their performance skills”.

We pride ourselves on providing fun, but challenging classes so that our students can thrive and progress further than they ever thought possible!
